Information & Advice on Fendering
Fenders are used to protect the boat hull. When deciding on the size and numbers of fenders required to protect the craft, plan for the application. Consider where the boat is, sea or lake. Marina berth or mooring. What are the toughest weather conditions that can be expected. Consider fenders in addition to the basic need.
Depending on the shape of the hull, weight of the boat, the shape of the object being moored against, tide and current flow etc., consider a possible mix of cylindrical and/or spherical fenders to achieve maximum protection.
Please note that the fender guide only can provide guidance, the local conditions are of vital importance. If in doubt, seek local advice.
Fenders are cheap compared to hull damage.
